Whether you are just thinking about learning to ballroom dance or if you are a competitor in ballroom dancing, The Ballroom of Sacramento is for you!
Many people that frequent The Ballroom are only interested in social dancing. They come to the dance parties on Friday and/or Saturday nights to enjoy dancing with the few hundred other people that frequent The Ballroom. Most people that are in it for the social enjoyment find that the enjoyment gets even better as they learn to dance better. Many people take dancing to the next level of enjoyment. They learn not only to dance, but to be a dancer. They learn that there is actually a technique to dancing that makes the 'lead-follow' very enjoyable! When the men finally learn that the ladies really don't care whether or not the men know a lot of fancy stuff, but rather prefer to dance the basic patterns with someone that knows how to lead them in a nice flowing dance rhythm, they begin to take dance lessons and practice what they learn.
BALLROOM DANCING is as much of a sport as is skiing, bicycling or jogging, just to name a few, with the added benefit of contact with another person. Since dancing is an indoor sport, it is unaffected by weather conditions.
BALLROOM DANCING is enjoyed by people of all ages. The younger generation leans toward the salsa and swing music while other age groups lean towards the waltz and foxtrot music. All ages enjoy all the different dances in the list of Ballroom Dancing because there is such a wide variety of dances within the ballroom group of dances.
